In 2006，nickel price is continuously increasing, from beginning the price is lower than $14000/ton, from now near $35000/ton, the increase rate is almost 150%, the nickel price is increasing, even from the estimation of the most reserving institute, the international supply and inquire of nickel is just balance in the moment, therefore, according to the nowadays nickel supply, the international market will face to the shortage problem.
Of course, for the actual situation, from the effect of the nickel price increase, the global nickel manufacturers are planning many new investments, but for some reasons, some of the manufacturers are delaying their project.
According to some of the statistics, there are 300 thousand ton of Nickel will be effected to release to the market. Though 360 thousand ton of nickel mill is under constructing, they can not be supplied in 2007.
Refer to some experts’ prediction, nickel price will again go up over the historic high level to $40000/ton in 2007.
